The lady bug
"Mommy, Mommy, I found a lady bug on the floor and she's dead"! "Let's flush her down the toilet and say a prayer", I say, to which the response is not one of agreement! Joshi is basically disgusted that I would suggest such a thing! "No Mommy, we must put her outside so her family can find her", says Joshi. I, at this point, realize I have my son's fragile and pure imagination in my hands, and as we have 'saved' many a crippled lady bug in the past, no doubt dragged in by Winston, I must assist this time also as my son 'saves' this one. I manage to talk him into the whole flushing down the loo thing by telling him that by doing so, she will go up to heaven where God will fix her then send her back down to her family. So there we are in the bathroom, Joshi has the ladybug in his hand, just about to drop her into the toilet, our heads bowed, when he drops her. Pandemonium breaks loose when Winston trots in and we cannot find the ladybug and Joshi's freaking out cause he thinks Winston ate her, but no, after at least five minutes of searching for this dead ladybug, thinking to myself where the flip could she have gone, we find her....................squashed on the bottom of my dear sons foot!! I was laughing so hard that I was almost crying, which was great because through Joshi's devastation, he asks me why am I laughing, to which I reply, "I am not laughing honey, I am crying for the ladybug"!!!!!
